The ever so stylish and beautiful Basma Kahie

I have a confession to make: I am addicted to Instagram! No, I don’t love to share my own photos as much as I love to admire the photos of the most stylish and beautiful hijabis all over the globe. One particularly beautiful Instagrammer is Basma Kahie (@basmak) from London. While she may be only 23, she is an amazingly talented hijabi when it comes to styling her outfits. Not only does she sew her own hijabi pieces, she also blogs! She blogs about inspiring the world with her thoughts and ideas on modest fashion and style. You can check out Basma K’s blog here.

I love this particular photo above because you can see that Basma K has a few trademarks that work especially well for her. She loved bold lips, cat eyeliner, lashes, and wearing clothes that cinch her beautiful waistline. While these are her trademark staples, I encourage you all to find what works for you. If you look at all fashion icons, they always had some version of what flattered them. For Audrey Hepburn it was straight clean lines, eyeliner for those doe eyes, and her bold brows. For Gwen Stefani, its all about liquid eyeliner and red lips. I am still working on my trademarks, but for now, its lashes, blush, and cardigans.

Don’t you love how Basma ties in that darling polka dot umbrella with her cinched blazer? Its perfect for warmer winter days.

Make sure to check out Basma K for some inspiration and check out some other hijabi fashionistas on Instagram and let me know who I should follow too!

Meet the Brand: Inayah Collection

Inayah

Inayah

Jumah mubarak! I hope that you are well on this beautiful Friday inshallah.

Are you looking for a modern yet modest clothing? I used to struggle with trying to find hijab friendly clothes. Now, I feel like even walking into a large chain like Forever 21, there are countless options for hijabis. However, it still takes effort to layer some of those pieces from mainstream chain stores in order to look modest. It also is harder for curvy hijabis to layer too. I find that lots of cute outfit options for our slender hijabi fashionistas just ends up making me look bulky! The good news for hijabis who (a) hate layering too much and (b) look bulky with layers, is that there are more and more hijab brand houses cropping up. One of the beautiful things about the internet is that hijab brands that may be located in other countries are now easily accessible! I am always excited to not only support my fellow Muslims, but it is also nice to be able to shop in the comfort of my own home. I love to do it while sipping chai in my pajamas and my baby is asleep.

One of the more established brands is Inayah Collection. They have a great selection of not only hijabs and abayas, but also options like maxi skirts, pants, and tops. They even sell cute hijab pins! The one thing I really like about this brand is that their clothes are lightweight and have graceful drapes. Drapes flatter any figure! For slender hijabis, it adds some volume and for curvy hijabis, it hides some of the lumps and bumps. If you have not heard of Inayah Collection, please check them out! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Elevate Your Hijab Style

Every day, we typically do the same things over and over again out of habit. This includes hijabis. Hijabi life includes not having to stress about doing our hair, but then we end up neglecting ourselves too.

Don’t fall in a rut sisters!

I remember how when I first starting wearing hijab, I stuck with basic black forever. Then, I was stuck on wearing triangle hijabs. I could literally get ready in a matter of minutes. But I also felt less excitement about getting ready too.

Once I started pushing my comfort zone, I felt like I started to get pep in my step.

Today, it was gray and very gloomy in SF. But I still felt sunshine thanks to special details in my hijab and accessories. It translated to being upbeat at work, getting excited to get home to my daughter, and happy to see my hubby.

So sisters! Make sure you take the time to get out of your own hijabi fashion rut ( if you are in one) and pick some accessories that elevate your daily routine.
